Explorers

We are explorers in the wilderness. Moving for weeks, through seemly virgin forest, only to come across an old camp fire. Then we realize that others have come before.

We must learn to travel lightly and avoid beaten paths, less we destroy the very things we seek:

"Improvement makes straight roads, but crooked roads without improvement are roads of genius."
-Wm Blake

Our heroes are "Dead Poets", the ancient map makers whose maps leave vast empty spaces: "Here be dragons!"

How to be a true Christian

1. Take the Old Testament out of your bible and throw it away.
2. Memorize and meditate on all the words and phrases in the New Testament that Jesus is reputed to have said.
3. Throw the New Testament away.

"If you know what you are doing you are blessed."

"Seek and ye shall find. Ask and it shall be given."

Or as the Buddha said: "Find your own way."

One William Blake is worth more than ten thousand Sunday morning preachers.

First Sight

The greatest gift to bestow:
To see again with child's eyes.

When eyes turn inward,
and hearts transform,
To see the truth,
and be reborn.

First light,
First sight,
Ancient years,
Wisdom's tears.

"The kingdom is spread upon the earth and men do not see."
-- Jesus of Nazareth

Some seventies stuff.

I wrote these back in the seventies.

Alone.

I am alone.
Because I am alone,
I create.
And I hide,
In the multitude,
Of my creation.

Schrodinger's Cat.

Pity the fate of Schrodinger's cat.
Where he is, ain't where he's at.
The cat in the box is in a bind,
Is he in or out of time?

At a Torii Gate

At a Torii Gate,
Which side is sacred?
Which side profane?

Which is loss?
Which is gain?

Do we measure fate,
When we choose,
At a Torii Gate?

Misc.

An idea let lose can never be contained. It is out there for all eternity to see.

Blown to this wayside, I watch the travelers and wait for rain.

To God, all suffering is bearable.

Who needs evil when you have greed and ignorance?

A good hunter looks both forward and backward.

After thinking about it a bit more, I have removed: "Artist are God's chosen people. They are the ones doing God's work." We all are chosen and we all are doing God's work.

When we die, we are given "our heart's desire". We go where our heart is. This is why a Christian's NDE experience is different than a Buddhist experience. God is giving us what we want!

Reflections on water

Reflections on water,
sparkles in multitude.
And I think;
Each one is a soul.

Sentinel beings,
with individuality,
and in totality,
reflect the source.

But God is more;
God is source,
reflection,
and water.
