Thoughts on Aliens

Given the age of the universe and the vast number of galaxies, I am very comfortable in giving the probability of other civilizations existing: 1.0
Probability of civilizations that are more than a million years more advanced than us: 1.0
Probability of civilizations that are more than a thousand million years more advanced: 1.0
Probability of "Bestowers" existing: 1.0

Some Thoughts on Alien Tech

I think that in the case of "morphing" "UFOs", what we are seeing are holograms projected around the vehicle to mimic or confuse. By projecting an image of the background the vehicle could also be rendered invisible. I want to stress that the lights seen are also holographic projections.

The "fear" that people experience when seeing a "UFO" might be because the "UFO" is putting out "bad vibes" as a defensive mechanism to keep us at a distance. If they can speak to us directly in our minds, they can manipulate our emotions. They can also cause us to forget.

Many ways

Are we born in the world only to deny the world?

To turn away from the world in an inner quest to find spiritual liberation? To sit alone in some musty cave dreaming of the kingdom of righteousness? To a few this is the right path but to most, isn't it to be fully in the world? To watch a sunrise, a child grow from helplessness to adulthood, to feel the warm embrace of a love one?

Nietzsche says: "We seek not the same purpose here". The Buddha says: "Find your own path". The Bhagavad Gita says: "Many are the ways of men but they all, in the end, come to Me."

I say: Do the work that God have given you: seek knowledge, strive to love as God loves: unconditionally. And in everything that you do or suffer, do or suffer it for God.

Big Head

Less someone get "big headed", I want to stress the communal nature of creation. We are to God as a neuron is to a brain. We are a part of the whole. There is a difference in being "of God" and being God, which mega-maniacs seem not to realize.

In western religions, God creates the universe apart from himself, hence the universe (including us) has fallen. In eastern religions, God creates the universe out of himself. He is the Creation. Above is an image called Nataraj: Lord Shiva as the "Divine Dancer" which I think best represents my concept of God: In Shiva's hand is a drum measuring out the passage of time, while around Him burn the multitude fires of creation. Shiva dances on the dwarf of ignorance.

I came here to dance! (Or maybe, to learn how to dance.)

The Creator

Eternity is in love with the productions of time.
--Wm. Blake

If God does not exist, why do we love Him so? Truly, if He did not exist, we would have to create Him. This is what we (The Bestowers) are doing: creating God! We create God and God creates us because everything is an on-going act of creation. Everything is holy! This is the gift that God has given us: We are manifestations of Divinity and have the power to create, yes even God. We share communally in the on-going act of creation.

Love and love will exist!

What I believe

I believe that we are "spiritual"* beings who incarnate in these human bodies to experience life. Some of the near death accounts say that we first came to planet earth about 30,000 years ago. We have been born many times in human and other forms. Our purpose here is two fold: 1. To gain knowledge through the experiences of life and: 2. To learn how to love unconditionally as God loves.

When you put knowledge and love together you get wisdom.

*Note: I make no distinction between spiritual and very advanced alien technology!

Thought experiment

I'm 63 years old. In 1952 when I was six, we got our first TV. It had a five inch screen, all vacuum tubes and came in a huge case. I got my first color TV in 1974. It was a hybrid of vacuum tubes and transistors. My first personal computer from 1982 had a Z80 processor with a few thousand transistors. The processor in the computer I'm writing on has around a thousand million transistors and isn't even "state of the art". A hundred years ago, the first canvas and wood airplanes took to the sky. The first radio stations were being built. Two hundred years ago, the first railroads.

Let's turn our attention to the future and try to imagine what it will be like a hundred years from now... Try to imagine our civilization a thousand years from now... What technological wonders will we have? Imagine an alien civilization that is a thousand years more advanced than us. What technological wonders will they have? Now, imagine an alien civilization a million years more advanced! Finally, imagine an alien civilization a thousand million years more advanced! Our universe is old enough to support such advanced civilizations. I'll connect the dots and say that it does. How would such advanced civilizations manifest? As orbs? As spiritual beings? As Gods?

freedom

"You who are on the road must have a code that you can live by."
--CSN and sometimes Y

We do not find our freedom but rather we must create it. Or create the conditions conducive to obtaining it. When we are ready, Divine Grace grants us freedom.

We are builders, building upon the ruins of our ancestors. We can build a shack or we can build a temple. Either way, what we build determines who our tenants will be.

Belief

Science (like religion) is a belief system and is a human construct of how we think the world works. It is only a model of reality. Ideally, when experience doesn't fit the model, the model is modified to fit the experience. But what usually happens is that the experience is denied. Ghosts don't fit the model so they don't exist! UFOs don't fit the model so they don't exist. Etc! In our minds, our models have become the reality and woe to those who tell us otherwise.

The only reality is the on going act of creation! Belief systems like all created things are born, live and die in an endless cycle of creation. They are useful only for a time and a place.

"It is better to believe a lie than to believe nothing at all."

Some say that we are seeking Truth but I think we are only looking for a "clean well lighted place".

Ghosts, UFOs, etc

Back in the fifty's My mom used to take us kids over to spend the night at my grand mom's. I was six or seven at the time. My grand mom lived in one of those "shotgun" houses in Ybor city that was constructed in the early 1900's for the cigar workers. (It was called a "shotgun" house because you could stand on the front porch and fire a shotgun through the house without hitting anything inside.) We kids would sleep on the living room floor on "pallets". I remember waking up one night and hearing someone in the kitchen banging on pots and pans. It sound like they were cooking or washing dishes. I didn't think anything more about it until years later when my mom started telling me about how the house was haunted: She had seen a woman sitting in a rocking chair nursing a baby. My granddad saw a man come in the front door, walk past him into the kitchen and disappear. Then my mom said something about the noises coming from the kitchen at night when nobody was up. Thats when I remembered hearing them. Someone was in the kitchen. If they were cooking or washing dishes, they were doing it in the dark! I could see into the kitchen and the light wasn't on. So, I heard a ghost before I even knew what a ghost was.

A couple of years ago, early one morning on the way to work, I saw two inverted teardrop shaped UFO's. They were flat black in color and paced me north on US 301. I watched them for approx 20 min as they slowly moved further away. They were moving at my speed or slightly faster ie; 40-50 mph, much too fast to be hot air balloons. Besides, they didn't have gondolas. They were dull metallic spheres with a cone on the bottom. Since then, I have seen other UFOs: the ones that mimic scintillating stars, three one night, almost as bright as Sirus and stationary for the half hour that I watched. When I got home, I checked my planetarium program "Stellarium" and there were/are no bright stars in those positions. I saw one or more of these over a period of several weeks. I also saw a light that oscillated in brightness (sine wave like with a period of 8-10 seconds) while moving from directly overhead towards the east.

Have you ever had the feeling that something bad was about to happen? I had a premonition the night I got car-jacked and the night I had an accident. I had a lucid dream that foretold the future.

Every one of us has had experiences along these lines. There is more going on than science is able to explain.

Omniscience

Why God is not "all knowing".

God has sacrificed his omniscience so that we can have free will. If God knew, with certainty, what we were going to do, then everything would be predetermined. We wouldn't have free will. God loves spontaneity! God loves surprises! We create the world and the world creates us because everything (including God) is an on-going act of creation.

The Bestowers

 The Bestowers

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”
Arthur C. Clarke (Clark's third law)

Science estimates our universe to be about 14 billion years old. The early universe was lacking in heavier elements. The so called first generation stars forged and seeded the universe with the heavy elements and compounds needed for life to exist. When the conditions were met, life promptly arose. There has been sufficient time for very advanced civilizations to have come into existence.

The Bestowers are the ones who came first. These ancient civilizations have technology that is perhaps a billion years more advanced than ours. They have become God like. For all practical purposes they are Gods, and they are of God. Through technology they have given themselves immortality. Because they are compassionate beings, they traveled throughout the universe seeking out and giving all other sentinel beings (including ourselves) immortality. To put it another way, they gave themselves souls and then they gave all other sentinel beings, souls.

What we call the spiritual realm is the creation of the Bestowers. I can only conjecture as to how this was done: Perhaps by creating another universe with the attributes required for "spiritual" existence.

Maybe, the tunnel reported in many near death experiences, is a worm hole to this other universe.

I presented the scenario that the Bestowers arouse out of our universe. If they have the ability to move from one universe to another, as I suspect they do, then they could come from another universe. Perhaps the predate the creation of our universe. Might the creation of a "spiritual" universe have been the mechanism used to escape destruction at the big crunch/big bang of a cyclic universe?

I wrote this piece primarily to show that belief in science and belief in an after life are not mutually exclusive. Through the use of technology science can and does eventually lead to spirituality.
